Does your Car Need a New Wheel Bearing?

If you are in need of a new wheel bearing on your car or vehicle, it’s something you should definitely prioritise for your safety. There are some signs you can look out for that will indicate you might need a new wheel bearing. All parts of your wheel need to be working correctly together if you are going to be safe on the road, so make sure you take action if you spot any of the following:

  • Grinding and scraping noises. If you notice a noise like this whilst on the road, it is never a good sign! Grinding noises will usually indicate you need a new bearing, and the noise will usually get worse when you accelerate.
  • Tyre wear and tear. Tyres that have worn down will often have loosened bearings. Get bearings checked if your tyres are particularly worn down.
  • Unusual steering. If you feel like your steering is loose, this could be to do with the wheels and bearings.
